HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Twentynine Palms High School, 14 to 4 Monday. The Yucca Valley team is now 6-1. The Wildcats are now 8 and 4 on the season.

Yucca Valley Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Katie Brattain won 6-0, 6-1, 6-0; Carrie Scofield won 7-6, 6-0, 6-2; Ashley Heveron 6-4. In doubles, Dawn Rich and April Bratcher were 6-1, 6-4, 6-0; Kloee Saccalonce and Savannah Beasley won 6-1, 6-3, 6-1; and Summer Nelson and Alisha Tavares 6-1.
 
For the Twentynine Palms Ladycats tennis team, Coach William Shay said the Ladycats were led by Lexi Wade and Kaitlyn Black, each winning one set. In doubles action, the teams of Sadie Brown/Samantha Crippen and Sherolyn Alconaba/Danny Morrissey each came away with one set.
