HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACHES WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT

Football coaches at both local high schools say they are ready to get their programs going. Yucca Valley High School Coach Jeremy Johnson told Z107.7 news that he has had had COVID practice plans ready since last fall. He said, “After the governor’s announcement and the CIF-SS update, I am hoping that our district will consider letting us begin conditioning. If we all follow CDC guidelines, I know we can conduct practices safely. The kids need this more than ever and as soon as we get the green light, Trojan football will hit the field.”

Twentynine Palms High School Coach T.J. Stanford said, “While the state has set their guidelines, we are still waiting on direction from the board and district on how we will proceed. There are some ‘mock game schedules’ that have been proposed, but as of today we are still on a no-contact with players policy.”
