After hearing an update on the wastewater reclamation project, the Hi-Desert Water District board of directors will be asked to authorize a contract for almost $259,000 for environmental support services for the sewer facility; a $78,000 contract for quality assurance services for construction of the treatment plant; a contract for $213,000 to purchase materials for its capital replacement program; and $181,000 to purchase pipes for the capital replacement program. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in district offices at Inca Trail and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley.
Prior to the start of tonight’s regular meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District, the board of directors will recognize Jose Angel, who is retiring after 29 years with the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board. His retirement will be effective in June. Angel was instrumental in implementing many region-wide water quality project’s, including Yucca Valley’s $150 million sewer project. A reception will follow the recognition, which starts at 4:45 p.m., followed by the board meeting.
