The Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors will discuss at its meeting tonight how to charge residents for the proposed wastewater service charges. The recommendation is that service charges be paid through property taxes for residents, while commercial properties, and those who do not pay property taxes, receive a monthly bill. Other items on the agenda include a report on the effect wildfires have had on drinking water, an overview of two websites that promote water conservation, and an update on the water system master plan. After reports and comments the directors will go into closed session to negotiate terms and payments with the county flood control district for two properties. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in district offices at Inca Trail and the Highway in Yucca Valley.
