The members of the Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors are taking safety at the new wastewater treatment facility seriously; three new safety measures got the approval of the board. The wastewater treatment facility will receive 29 disconnect switches, handrails, and epoxy concrete coating.
Well 24 problems can be traced to the food-grade oil used to lubricate the pump. It seems bacteria is being created by the oil, and after several attempts of chlorinating and days of flushing, the problem remained. The district sent a sample to a specialty lab for a better understanding on how to clear up the situation. Layne came up with a solution and will be given the no-bid contract.
