Developments and some private projects may be able to get a break on their sewer assessment fees. Last night, the Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors agreed that developments that have installed private collection systems, which will be contributed to the town’s sewer project, may be eligible for a credit towards their sewer assessment.

In other business, the board approved the staff recommendation of halting delinquent late fees until the executive order is lifted by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Regarding the petition to recognize the western Joshua Tree as a threatened species, the board encouraged the staff to oppose the petition.

Finally, the Board approved the Applebee’s sewer assessment fee in the total of $294,333.
