The board of directors of the Hi-Desert Water District will be asked to authorize the spending of lots of money at tonight’s meeting. First up is an authorization to enter into a contract with W.M. Lyles for nearly $1.8 million for a design-build services for stage 1 of the wastewater reclamation facility. Next, the board will hold the second of six board meetings to provide updates on the water district’s hazard mitigation plan. A contract with the U.S. Geological Survey for nearly $90,000 is next. The USGS will conduct geophysical surveys of faults in the eastern portion of Yucca Valley where the wastewater treatment facility will be built. And the last item of business is the authorization of $24,500 for the completion of a total dissolved solids study work plan. The meeting starts at 6:00 in district offices at Inca Trail and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley.
