Managing editor Tami Roleff explains how contractors can get on the water district’s list…
Next year, about 5,000 property owners will be required to convert their septic systems to the new sewer project. Hi-Desert Water District is compiling a list of contractors who are interested in connecting these properties to the main sewer line. The list will be given to property owners who will contact the contractors directly. The contracted work will include abandonment or removal of the septic tanks, seepage pits, or package treatment plants; installation of private connection lines and backflow devices; replacement of the landscaping; and acquiring the permits from the town of Yucca Valley. Contractors who are interested in being on the list should fill out at application at hdwd.com. The deadline to apply is October 24. For more information, call Zac Frater at 760-228-6287.
