HI-DESERT WATER GETS AN UPDATE ON YUCCA VALLEY SEWER SYSTEM PLANS

The Hi-Desert Water District Board got an update on plans for Yucca valley’s sewer system last night. Reporter Chanda-Lyn Fraschetti was there and files this report…

Progress is being made concerning the sewer installation. A presentation was given by Atkins, an engineering company that is overseeing the design process. Project manager Carmen Kasner, gave an update on a new GIS Interface that will keep the community up to date.” What we are working on is a web interface, where the public will be able to see their properties and the alignments that we are proposing.” The site which is expected to be up and running in September, will also allow the public to make comments. When asked about the financial concern that many residents have, Vice President of the Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors, Sheldon Hough said, “The focus that I think we are working really hard to try and get grants and make this as palatable to people as we possible can.” A special water board meeting is scheduled for May 29 at 6 p.m. to further discuss the project budget.
