HI-DESERT WATER GENERAL MANAGER GETS THUMBS UP, BOARD MEETS TONIGHT

In an August 19 meeting, the Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors met in a closed session to discuss the performance evaluation of its general manager. In a statement released yesterday (Tuesday, October 6)—seven weeks after the evaluation—the board of directors said general manager Ed Muzik earned a very good to excellent rating for his eighth year at the water district. During the performance evaluation, the board members recognized that Musik has met his goals, and that the district also obtained grant funds and low-interest loans for more than $11 million in one year.

Among the items on the agenda of the board of directors for the HI-Desert Water District’s meeting tonight, the board will consider increasing the number of members on the public advisory committee to up to 22 residents. The board will also be asked to approve a payment to the State Water Resources Control Board for nearly $69,000 for the development of the district’s waste discharge requirements. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the water district offices at Inca Trail and the highway in Yucca Valley.
