A California law passed on September 23, 2021, (SB 155) included a provision that extended the prohibition of water service shutoffs due to nonpayment until December 31, 2021. Now that that date has passed, the Hi-Desert Water District will resume water shut-offs this year. To provide their customers ample time to make payments for outstanding balances, the Hi-Desert Water District will resume water service shutoffs along with associated fees for accounts more than 60 days past due starting on February 28, 2022.
