At last night’s meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District Board Directors authorized the issuance and sale of water revenue refunding bonds to consolidate and bring down the interest rate on four outstanding loans for an expected $329,000 savings over the next 10 years. The board also authorized an indemnity agreement with Mojave Water Agency for receiving the first round of Prop 84 grant funding which totals $3 million from the Department of Water Resources. Also last night, the board gave the go ahead to begin the redesign of the almost 50-year-old pneumatic booster station in the area of Cholla Avenue and Cobalt Road. The obsolete station serves 48 structures. Those items and others preceded directors and manager’s reports followed by a closed session conference with legal counsel.
