HI-DESERT WATER DISTRICT LOOKING TO FILL BOARD OPENING

A new director is will soon join the Hi-Desert Water District’s governing board. If you’re a registered voter residing within the boundaries of the District, you are invited to apply. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with the details…

The board seat became available following the resignation of Director Jim Byerrum late last month. And last week, the remaining board members opted to avoid a costly special election and instead will appoint a new director. Plans call for the water district’s board to appoint Byerrum’s successor following interviews at the regular April 20 Board meeting. Prospective appointees must submit a resume and/or letter of qualifications no later than 5 p.m. Monday, April 11. Serving on the board requires attendance at the regular meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month as well as committee meetings. Other requirements include Ethics and Sexual Harassment training, and provision of an Annual Statement of Economic Interests Form 700.
