The Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors will hold its regular meeting tonight. Reporter Jill Carey Michaels fills us in on the agenda…
Among the items the Hi-Desert Water District’s board of directors will consider this evening are establishing water standby assessments; determining the water district’s portion of appropriations from property taxes; and drilling three bore holes near the future wastewater treatment plants to monitor recharge. In addition, a housekeeping resolution adopting revision for an Overtime Compensation Policy will be presented. Tonight’s meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in the water district’s office at Highway 62 and Inca Trail in Yucca Valley.
More than water is transparent at the Hi-Desert Water District. The District announced Tuesday that it has received its 12th Certificate of Financial Excellence for financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. The certificate was awarded for the water district’s 2016/17 comprehensive annual financial report. To be awarded the certificate, the district must meet certain transparency standards and requirements.
