HI-DESERT WATER CAN’T DECIDE ON A MONUMENT SIGN

At last night’s meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District, the Board of Directors approved several infrastructure project bids. Reporter Joshua King says the board also discussed a new monument sign for the water district’s office…

Last night’s meeting began with the acceptance of a bid from B81 Paving Inc. for asphalt repairs in the town, followed by an acceptance of a bid for boring and pipe installation from Ayala Boring Inc.

Next on the agenda was to choose a new design for the monument sign outside of the Water District building. The board members could not come to an agreement over a design choice, and chose to submit a request to Stanco Signage for a new design that adjusted the address, logo size, and desert display.

Babcock Laboratories Inc. was selected to handle wastewater testing for the next three years. The board then voted to adopt a resolution to proceed with Phases II and III of the Sewer Master Plan, which were identified as constructing approximately 64 miles of PVC sewer pipeline, 1,300 manholes and three lift station facilities in various areas of service territory. Finally, the board voted to approve and adopt the water and wastewater budgets for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021.
