The Hi-Desert Water District Board of Directors will hold a special meeting at 6:00 tonight. Among the items on the agenda, the directors will be asked to update its policy concerning the retention and destruction of district records. Directors will also consider approving a request for proposal for hiring consulting services to help the water district with strategic planning and an organizational assessment. Next, the board will consider whether the position of the public information officer/executive secretary should remain as one position, or be split into two positions, and the board will also be asked to consider creating a full-time position of chief plant operator for the wastewater project. The board will also be asked to approve $380,000 in replacement pipe and pipeline materials. And finally, the directors will determine who should respond to requests for qualifications and proposals of a construction manager for the wastewater project. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Hi-Desert Water District offices at Inca Trail and the highway.
