On Wednesday night, the Hi-Desert Water District’s jam-packed agenda included authorizing the general manager to buy a 2019 four-wheel drive Chevrolet Suburban from Winner Chevrolet costing about $45,000, proudly noting that their previous vehicle had lasted more than a decade.
The board of directors also approved the Mojave Water Agency’s boundary modification request. The purpose of this change is to bring the town’s map borders into alignment with the written description. Apparently, when the state was digitizing the town map, it failed to include the Warren Valley Basin boundaries where Sunburst and Yucca Mesa cross Route 62.
With the sewer project on everyone’s mind this summer, Hi-Desert Water District President Sarann Graham and General Manager Ed Muzik discussed informing potential customers of contractor financing options, once the sewer connection phase begins.
Speaker Chris Palmer with the California Special Districts Association presented the Hi-Desert Water Board with a well-earned District Transparency Certificate of Excellence.
Since only one low bid of $195,000 was submitted, the Board approved the necessary rehabilitation and test pump purchase of Well 11W, as well as the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program funding for 2018 fiscal year.
