At last night’s meeting of the board of directors for the Hi-Desert Water District, the 2019 Miss Yucca Valley Court made an appearance. Each of the four members approached the microphone gave a quick speech, then made a graceful exit. The board voted to vacate the easement in the vacant parking lot in front of the JCPenney building. Next the board awarded the contract for $2 million to Pyramid Building and Engineering Inc. to build the final pump station for the wastewater reclamation (sewer) project. The board also approved the bid for $64,375 to re-coat the floor at the lower Fox tank. The staff noted that leaks are the reason the tank needs repairing.
