Girls and boys from ages 6 to 14 are encouraged to join the High Desert Storm football and travel competition cheerleading teams. High Desert Storm cheer offers instruction for beginners up to advanced tumbling and stunt skills. The cheerleading teams have competed in the Southern California Junior All-American football and cheer conference, and have brought home seven trophies in just two years. The first practice for the 2019 season will be held 5 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Knotts Sky Park in Twentynine Palms. A $60 deposit holds a cheerleader spot; the balance is due by August 10.
