HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM TO CLOSE FOR TWO WEEKS

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum will be closed December 25 through January 8 to accomplish annual maintenance projects. The museum will reopen Thursday, January 9 with a new temporary exhibit, “Audubon’s Quadrupeds: His Last Project” After the phenomenal success of Audubon’s “Birds of America” project, he turned his talents towards the four-footed creatures. With the artistic assistance of his two sons, and in concert with co-author John Bachman, Audubon plunged into this endeavor with his characteristic vigor and talent. He created the first American produced, illustrated compilation of indigenous fauna. This exhibit will be on display until March 31.
