The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is inviting artists to participate in a new traveling exhibit by reimagining the iconic Route 66 sign based on their personal experiences. Ernest Figueroa tells you how to get your kicks…
Are you an artist with fond memories of a trip you took on Route 66? If so, you can join the list of artists taking part in “Road Trip: Route 66,” a compilation of memories and thoughts about the Historic Route. Participating artists will receive a blank wood sign to artistically embellish. Pieces must be returned to the museum along with a written or typed statement that includes your name, the title of the piece, and a brief explanation of the piece (No more than 200 words) by 5:00 p.m. on August 14. The number of signs available are limited. To secure a sign, call the museum at 760-369-7212.
“Road Trip: Route 66” will be on display at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum August 19 through December 23.
