Join the Hi-Desert Nature Museum and a father-and-son presentation team on Thursday, October 2, for a hands-on display of hundreds of authentic relics from the 1860s, with descriptions of each and how they reflected the conflict between the states during the Civil War. Participants may handle photos, documents, newspapers, money, bullets, shrapnel, weapons, equipment and even games that tell the triumphs and tragedies of the war. This presentation starts at noon; admission is $5 but free for members, and iced tea will be served. For more information call 760-369-7212.
