HI-DESERT MEDICAL CENTER TO PUT BIG SIGN ON THE HIGHWAY

Hi-Desert Medical Center officials announced they are installing a solar-powered monument sign at the corner of Highway 62 and White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. The sign’s high prominence and visibility will assist visitors in locating the hospital District and those trying to find the hospital during a medical emergency. According to chief information officer Dan McClure, whose staff is leading the project, besides addressing safety concerns over visitors missing the turn to the hospital due to lack of signage at the highway, the Morongo Basin’s many tourists and visitors are often not aware that the hospital exists. Design plans have been approved by County officials and Cal-Trans. The sign is expected to be in place within a month.
