Hi-Desert Medical Center’s behavioral health program has been awarded several contracts with the County to provide mental health services in the Morongo Basin. The former provider, Morongo Basin Mental Health Association, announced in April it was “financially unable to continue,” and would be closing June 30. The services to be provided by the hospital include:
Full Service Partnership Program, providing the full-spectrum of community services including mental and non-mental health services and provides assistance to individuals with mental illness;
General Mental Health Services: Mental health therapy, assessment, treatment and medication for the entire Medi-Cal service population, children to older adults; County Mental Health Court Program: A rehabilitative program that targets individuals in the judicial system who are in need of intensive mental health assistance; CalWORKs Welfare to Work Program: Assists individuals in obtaining employment through training and education. Those having difficulty completing the program due to behavioral health issues are assisted. Hi-Desert Behavioral Health Services program director Virginia McCann is pleased to be expanding mental health services in partnership with the County of San Bernardino “It’s long been a goal of ours to integrate mental health with physical health to treat the whole person—body, mind and spirit,” she said. The program will be located in the Star Plaza in Yucca Valley, 57407 Twentynine Palms Highway, Suite F. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 760/366-1541.
