The Hi-Desert Medical Center Board meets tonight. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says the healthcare district may get a new CEO, and a new name…
The Hi-Desert Medical Center Board of Directors holds the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today following a 5:45 closed session for labor negotiations in connection with the office of CEO. In the 6 p.m. open session, the board will consider approval of a fiscal 2016 budget to be presented by CEO Robert Tyk after which the board is expected to accept Tyk’s resignation, then approve an employment agreement with a new, as yet unnamed, CEO. Tyk does have an agreement to remain as a consultant to the healthcare district for six months.
Also tonight, the board will likely approve a change operating names from Hi-Desert Medical Center to Morongo Basin Healthcare District. The last item on tonight’s agenda is a workshop in which the board will discuss and revise their current bylaws. It all happens at the Helen Gray Education Center on the hospital campus.
