Under the Affordable Care Act, all Americans are required to have health insurance. Open enrollment for obtaining insurance coverage for 2015 in California’s insurance marketplace, Covered California, began Saturday, November 15. Hi-Desert Medical Center is hosting a Covered California enrollment drive Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Helen Gray Education Center on the hospital campus. Certified enrollment counselors (including Spanish-speaking staff) will be on-hand to answer questions about the state’s insurance exchanges and help with the enrollment process. Those who schedule appointments will have the opportunity to sit one-on-one at the event with trained staff who will help them enroll in Covered California.
