Hi-Desert Medical Center has received a specialized radiology accreditation. Reporter Mike Lipsitz explains……
Following a recent review by the American College of Radiology, the Hi-Desert Medical Center has been awarded a three-year accreditation in computed tomography. Computed tomography scanning, or CAT scanning, is a noninvasive test that helps physicians diagnose and tailor treatments for various conditions. The American College of Radiology gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting stringent guidelines and standards; image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance are assessed. “This achievement is testament to how focused our staff is on the safety of our patients and the quality of the exams we perform,” said Alice Antone, Director of Medical Imaging.
