Hi-Desert Medical Center Employees are now all unionized. On October 10, registered nurses at Hi-Desert Medical Center voted to join the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United Union. On October 24, nearly 300 other workers at the hospital also voted to join a union. The employees, who include licensed vocational nurses, housekeepers, technicians, and food service workers, voted to join the SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West, a union of more than 93,000 healthcare workers in California.
