HI-DESERT MEDICAL CENTER COLLECTS ALMOST 2,000 BOXES OF CEREAL

Last Friday, employees of the Hi-Desert Medical Center and staff of the Way Station Ministry came together for the culmination of this year’s Healthy Over Hungry cereal food drive. Reporter Eric Knabe was there and files this report…

Hi-Desert Medical Center staff box up the cereal boxes that were donated during a week-long food drive at the hospital.

Last Friday afternoon, employees of the Hi-Desert Medical Center and staff of the Way Station packed up boxes of cereal headed for The Way Station  Ministry. This year’s The Healthy Over Hungry cereal food drive, which ran June 7-14, raised $625 in a silent auction and brought in 1,837 boxes of cereal, up from last year’s 1,784; that comes out to 23,146 servings, The donations benefit The Way Station food bank of Joshua Tree. The cereal will become part of a free continental breakfast or included in a box of food for those in need to take home.
