The Hi-Desert Medical Center Board meets in regular session tonight. Reporter Mike Lipsitz checks the hospital board’s agenda…
The Hi-Desert Medical Center Board holds the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today. This is the last regular board meeting prior to the close of voting on Measure Y, the ballot initiative to determine whether or not the hospital will enter a 30-year lease agreement with Tenet Healthcare. Ballots must be returned in the accompanying prepaid envelope and postmarked on or before June 23. Tonight the board will consider three resolutions; two are administrative items needed to be in place if voters approve affiliation with Tenet, and a third resolution names a firm to conduct the fiscal year-end audit for the district. Following those items and regular reports, the board will adjourn to closed session for a performance evaluation of CEO Bob Tyk and matters involving labor negotiations and trade secrets. It all happens at the Helen Gray Education Center on the hospital campus.
