Prior to tonight’s regular 6 p.m. meeting of the Hi-Desert Medical Center Board of Directors, there will be a special open meeting at 4 p.m. for the purpose of interviewing candidates to fill the board seat vacated by Paul Hoffman last month. Up for the position are Mike McBride, Joseph Sullivan and Marge Doyle. Directors are expected to announce a decision by the end of March. On the agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting, the board will likely authorize management to investigate affiliation with outside consultants to assist the District with possible merger with another healthcare entity. Also tonight, CEO Bob Tyk aims to bring directors on board with his goals for the second half of fiscal 2014. Both meetings will be in the Helen Gray Education Center on the hospital campus.
