A shining talent in the Hi-Desert Theater family died tragically Friday night. According to the Hi-Desert Cultural Center, Scott Cutler suffered a major heart attack just after the final curtain of Friday’s opening night of the musical “Working.” Cast members applied CPR until paramedics from Morongo Basin Ambulance arrived. Cutler was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he was declared deceased. The cast of “Working” decided that they would still perform Saturday evening as a tribute to Cutler, saying they felt it is what he would want. The show will also run this coming weekend. Scott Cutler had graced stages at the Groves Theater and Hi-Desert Cultural Center. The Cultural Center said, “Described as a ‘gentle giant,’ Scott was a great gentleman, an ardent activist, and a passionate artist. All who have had the opportunity to work with him or see his performances are in mourning.”
