High Desert Beekeepers Association meets at 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 28, at The Nourishing Tree in the Holmes Health building, 62057 29 Palms. Highway in Joshua Tree. Andrew Tuffley will be demonstrating his homemade solar wax melter and sharing his experiences about beekeeping in Northern California in the 70s and 80s before the arrival of Africanized honeybees. Beekeepers and those aspiring to learn how to keep bees are invited to come learn about some new ways to attach comb to top-bar hives. It is not necessary to have bees to attend.
