Following the dispatch of routine items on the consent agenda, directors at the Hi-Desert Water District will hold a public hearing on fixing, levying, and collecting water standby assessments for fiscal 2022-23. And down the highway in Joshua Tree, the special 5:30 p.m. meeting at the Joshua Basin Water District will consider whether to fill the board opening left by the June first resignation of long-time board member Rebecca Unger by appointment or through a special election. Both meetings will be open for in-person public participation.
