A kickoff event for the second annual Hi-Def Hi-Desert Fringe Festival will be held at Ink & Steel as part of the upcoming May 11 Joshua Tree Second Saturday Art Crawl. Stop by between 6:30 and 9 p.m. to learn more about the Hi-DeF. Enjoy refreshments and live entertainment including improv, spoken word performances and music by Hunter and the Wick’d, and friends. Performer application fees will be waived during the kickoff and $20 discounts will be given for full festival passes purchased at the event. Ink & Steel is located at 61657 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. The second annual Hi-DeF will take place on the campus of the Joshua Tree Retreat Center August 23-25. Artist applications will be accepted until June 20.
