Henry Mockel wildflower lecture at High Desert Nature Museum Saturday (7/29)

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s current exhibit on artist Henry Mockel will be supplemented by a lecture this weekend.

Author Tenia Marian, who has written extensively about Mockel, will present here lecture entitled “Henry Mockel and his Desert Flowers” at 2 p.m. on Saturday (July 29). Mockel, a long-time Twentynine Palms resident, chronicled local plantlife, with a focus on wildflowers, through his serigraph illustrations.

If you can’t make the lecture, the High Desert Nature Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed to support the educational mission of the museum.
