HEMET WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER MURDER OF DESERT HOT SPRINGS WOMAN

A Hemet woman was arrested Wednesday, accused of murdering a 59-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman. According to Desert Hot Springs police, detectives were called to investigate the suspicious death of Chandra Saras in the 64100 block of Mont Blanc Court about 10 a.m. Monday, August 15. Detectives served search warrants in Hemet and arrested Kelly Phillips, 45, the former caretaker of Saras, on suspicion of murder, burglary, and dissuading a witness. Kelly Phillips was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Banning with no bail and will appear in the Riverside County courthouse in Indio today.
