HELP SOUGHT IN LOCATING PARADISE PARK VANDALS

The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects who vandalized Paradise Park in Yucca Valley last month. On April 22, and again on April 26, unknown suspects spray painted graffiti on the park’s picnic tables, signs, restroom walls, storage container, and newly poured sidewalks. Yucca Valley Town Manager Curtis Yakimow said the vandals don’t realize it’s the taxpayers and town residents who pay for the clean-up.
“That’s going to cost the town at least about $2,000 to remove… The folks that do this don’t realize that it’s really their own money that they are costing in order to clean this up.”
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Joling told the Yucca Valley Town Council Tuesday night that deputies are aggressively following leads. Council member Merl Abel suggested that perhaps the town could offer a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
