Last year, county residents approved the expansion of Fire Protection Zone-5, which will add $157 to property owners’ tax bills in San Bernardino County. The Red Brennan Group, a San-Diego based non-profit organization, is fighting the imposition of the FP-5 fire fee with several lawsuits, which have so far failed to stop the fire fee. Red Brennan Group spokesman Tom Murphy said Wednesday that the organization is drafting an initiative to repeal the FP-5 fire fee, and needs up to five people who are willing to sponsor the initiative. The sponsors must be registered to vote, be a resident of the county, and own property in the FP-5 service zone. Anyone who is interested, email [email protected].
