HELP CALIFORNIA DRAW DISTRICT LINES WITH ONLINE TOOLS

As California redraws its electoral districts, the state is still seeking your local knowledge for district lines. Reporter Jef Harmatz has more information about how you can draw your own district maps.

As the state’s redistricting continues, California wants your help. The Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, which oversees the creation of new district maps based on 2020’s census data, has asked every Californian to participate in the process by drawing their own district map, because nobody knows your community better than you. An online tool allows you to draw a district map based on population, neighborhoods, and landmarks, and your submitted map will be used by the commission to create final electoral district lines by the end of the year.
