HELP AVAILABLE FOR POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, can affect people who have gone through life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, serious accidents, or violent assaults. With more information about PTSD, here’s Rebecca Havely…
A person with PTSD often relives the traumatic experience through nightmares and flashbacks, has difficulty sleeping, and feels detached or estranged. These symptoms can be severe enough and last long enough to negatively affect the person’s daily life. Help is available for veterans who believe they have PTSD, but they must first have a medical diagnosis, and then a confirmation by a Veterans Affairs hospital. For more information about post-traumatic stress disorder, call the county Department of Veterans’ Affairs at 760-228-5234.
