ROP broadcasting student Cameron Critchfield interviewed A Twentynine Palms city employee who is the voice for those who can’t speak…
Do you ever get that gut feeling or voice in your head telling you to do something? Well, let me be that voice and tell you that you should go to Palms N Paws animal shelter in Twentynine Palms, and help out by giving donations, or adopting, or even better, both.
I interviewed Rick Boyd, animal control manager for the City of Twentynine Palms, and asked what would be good donations for the animals?
Boyd said, “Anything from treats to wet food and blankets, towels, and toys.”
I then asked how many dogs and cats are up for adoption? He answered, “Every month there are about 15 cats and 45 dogs”.
Then I asked him if they had enough money donated, would they expand for more room for more animals?
He said, “Yes, that would mean they wouldn’t have to put as many animals down.”
I ended my interview with, “What got you to work at the animal shelter?”
He answered, “The love of animals and that they can’t speak for themselves and they need a voice.” Rick Boyd is their voice.
