Helicopter rescues injured hiker inside Joshua Tree National Park

An injured rock climber was rescued via helicopter inside of Joshua Tree National Park.
On Sunday morning (December 14), San Bernardino County Fire responded to the Indian Cove area of Joshua Tree National Park near Twentynine Palms for a report of a fallen rock climber. County Fire says that the found a person who had fallen 40 feet and was suffering from severe injuries. Firefighter paramedics attempted to stabilize the climber on a jagged rock face, and they were eventually extracted via a helicopter from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation division.
The climber was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
