HEAVY HAULER DRIVER KILLED IN MORONGO VALLEY CRASH IDENTIFIED

A man killed Wednesday night when a modified heavy haul big-rig trailer he was driving jack-knifed on the highway in Morongo Valley has been identified. The County Coroner said at 10:07 p.m., paramedics responded to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Twentynine Palms
Highway and Fobes Road in Morongo Valley. Paramedics located 44-year-old Gregory William Cross of Salinas with traumatic injuries. Cross was the
driver of a semi-tractor trailer with two trailers attached being escorted by the California Highway patrol that jackknifed for an unknown reason. Cross was pronounced deceased at the scene at 10:15 pm.
