The hearing during which an Orange County judge will hear arguments about why a sexually violent predator should not be relocated to Twentynine Palms will be streamed online. Lawtis Rhoden, a 71-year-old sexually violent predator, was convicted of raping five girls, aged 13 to 17, in three states between 1969 and 1984. He was declared a sexually violent predator by a California jury in 2004. A hearing has been set for 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 16 in Orange County, during which representatives from San Bernardino County, the District Attorney’s office, and the Sheriff’s Department will argue why Rhoden should not be relocated to San Bernardino County. Morongo Basin residents will be able to listen to the hearing live through their computers.
