Healthy, informed parents raise healthy infants and families. That’s just one of the lessons to be learned in a free, culturally appropriate,10-lesson program for pregnant and parenting young people up to age 25. The Healthy Informed Parents or HIP program begins Thursday, October 5 in Morongo Basin, and will meet every Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for 10 weeks at Valley Community Church on Yucca Trail in Yucca Valley. Class lessons will cover parenting skills, family planning, healthy relationships, communication, and more. HIP educators will also provide free, one-on-one case management and educational support, employment preparation, life skills, and other assistance.
