At its meeting tonight, the Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s governing board will discuss setting up a sliding fee discount program at its clinics so all residents can receive care, regardless of income. The program will be available to individuals or families who are at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, and those with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty can pay a nominal fee. The sliding fee scale will apply to office visits and lab testing as well as referral services. The meeting starts at 5:45 p.m. in district offices, 6530 La Contenta Road, in Yucca Valley.
