HEALTHCARE DISTRICT MEETS TONIGHT, REVIEWS FOOD PLAN, 2021 BUDGET

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Trustees will hold its regular meeting tonight to present the 2021 operations budget. In an extended session, it will continue discussions from the May 19 special meeting in which the board designated funds for feeding Morongo Basin residents in need. At 6 p.m., the Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Trustees will hear controller Debbie Anderson’s overview and presentation of the draft operations budget, including the District, health centers, and transportation services projections. At 7:30 p.m., the board will continue discussions from the May 19 special meeting in which the board approved $500,000 for food distribution to residents in need. The Trustees will review staff suggestions for partnering with food suppliers, and Morongo Basin non-profits. The discussion will also include plans for food distribution, storage, transportation, additional services, and financial aid to the community.

The budget workshop will begin at 6 p.m., and the special meeting from May 19 will start at 7:30 p.m. The meeting remote-site link is the same for both sessions.

There will also be a physical meeting at the District’s campus, 6530 La Contenta Road, Suite 700, Yucca Valley. The public will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before entering the building and asked to wear a face mask while inside. Seating is limited to accommodate the six-foot distancing guidelines.
