The committee responsible for the annual health fair and community resource events was recognized last week by the Morongo Basin Healthcare District board of directors. The committee organizes two health fairs each year, a spring event in Yucca Valley and a fall fair in Twentynine Palms. Committee chair Joe Ruddon said the committee starts meeting five months before the event to coordinate the more than 40 vendors and event details. Ruddon added, “Our mission is to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve, and events like these health fairs allow us to carry out our mission.” The health fairs present fun and informative health activities, and give residents access to resources within the Morongo Basin and in San Bernardino County.
