There was a lot talk about budgets in last night meeting of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors. Controller Debbie Anderson presented the final draft of the budget for the fiscal year 2020, which took in consideration increased energy cost and rental income from the La Contenta property. The board approved. Then, Anderson presented the financial report for April. It showed that the clinics are not performing as expected. Changes in accounting methods are causing the monthly net income to be below projections, but there will be fewer surprises at the year end. And despite the low net income and significant variances to the budget, staff feel the clinics are moving in a positive direction.
